The vision for this creative session was to capture the muse as an african goddess and lioness. I pictured black women as queens in a world that was still debating our value based on the texture or curl in our hair. The Kente cloth in this image was used to create the headwrap and choker and we experimented with several poses and shots to connect her to the earth and the universal life force we all share. She danced, connected to her roots, and reconnected with her inner goddess while she was being captured. It was natural because it was already within her DNA.
